Sauze d'Oulx is the ideal locality in which to practise both winter (skiing, snowboarding, carving...) as well as summer (hiking, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, volleyball, bowls and clay pigeon shooting among others) sports.
Furthermore, in Sauze and the surrounding area, there are also facilities for tennis, golf and skating. We must also mention the Sauze Ski School - Sportinia, where Luciana Debili works. She will be pleased to accompany you on slopes of the "Via Lattea" ("Milky Way"), giving you pointers on how to improve your traditional skiing, snowboarding or even telemarking techniques.
Cultural Excursions
Apart from the outstanding natural beauty of the Upper Susa Valley, you can also visit and admire a number Roman ruins, for example in Susa there is the Arco di Augusto and the Roman Arena. We also recommend the Abbeys of Novalesa and Oulx, the Sacra di San Michele and the Forts of Exilles (of Iron Mask fame) and Fenestrelle (Amedeo II of Savoy, 1st King of Sardinia). You will be able to relive history through the evocative landscapes and the exploits of famous leaders such as Alessandro Magno, Julius Cesar, Hannibal, Carlo Magno and Napoleon I.
